I opened Marietta Furniture Outlet, Inc. in February of 2010, the same time my former employer of 8 years closed their furniture store. During my time there, I worked in and learned all aspects of the business. I spent the last 4 years as Store Manager. When the opportunity to be a small business owner became an option, I jumped on it.
First, I asked all of the employees to join me! Then, we opened in a small warehouse near the old store and on September 1, 2010, we opened a storefront in downtown Marietta. We have been reaching out to our old customers and working hard to attract new ones.
Our future success centers on running a slimmed down version of the old business that focuses on inventory and overhead control while maintaining a high attention to customer service.
It is clear there is a demand for more reasonably priced furniture and bedding stores. Consumers are being forced to shop at big box stores with overpriced furniture and high pressure sales people. We offer a smaller retail location with a product mix that has what people are looking for; good prices, good quality, fast delivery and good service.
